Please compare your fuel pump to the photos. If you are unsure which fuel pump you have please contact me. Return shipping is free in the USA. International shipping is available at an additional cost.
Restored pumps are covered by a one year warranty when they are installed with a new fuel tank strainer and in-line fuel filter.
If a pump is returned for warranty repair and debris or blockage is found inside, repair work will only be carried out at the customers expense. Damage caused by mishandling, incorrect installation or use in non-original applications is not covered. Pumps must have serial number label and undisturbed paint marks intact for warranty claims to be considered.
*Why do we use zinc plated hardware instead of stainless? Isn’t stainless better?
For some applications stainless is great but it’s not always ideal. Galvanic corrosion between stainless hardware and aluminum parts is a real problem that can not only result in hardware that is nearly impossible to remove, but the stainless can actually leach material from the aluminum, leaving behind structurally weakened threads. Zinc plated mild steel does not do this and that’s why we prefer it. A little anti-seize helps ensure that everything will come apart years from now if the pump ever needs to be rebuilt again.
What if my pump is really crusty?
Most pumps can be rebuilt without needing major components replaced. Badly corroded motor housings or aluminum parts can be reused as long as they don’t leak. In some cases the armature, impeller, positive and negative terminals and fuel fittings are not reusable. These parts are generally available new or used at an added cost. In these cases we will contact you to discuss what is required to get your pump back into shape. If you have a really ugly pump and would prefer to have a nicer one we may be able to accommodate, depending on what we have in stock. If a pump is not salvageable it will be returned and a refund will be given for the full amount less the cost of the return postage.
How do I send my pump in?
After you place your order we will send you a message with shipping information. Please prepare your fuel pump by ensuring it is drained of all fuel and sealed in a freezer bag or similar. Pack it carefully because we can’t rebuild it if it breaks out of the box on the way here. On that note, we also suggest insuring the package for at least $500 with whichever carrier you choose to send it with, since replacement pumps are not cheap. Restored pumps are insured for $1000 when they are shipped back to you.
